Ozymandias - The Mohanty edition!!!

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings.

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare."

Last night, I was teaching Ved the immortal poem Ozymandias. You know, the one where a mighty king’s statue lies shattered in the desert, while the sands laugh at his ego. And suddenly — like a lightning bolt in a potboiler — I realised the parallels to our very own Mohanty were too profound to ignore.

For one to be remembered, one must stay humble, grounded, and present. But Mohanty? Ah, Mohanty chose the path of the self‑obsessed trailblazer, strutting across the maidaan as if the pitch were his personal kingdom. He had legends to learn from, giants to emulate, but instead he marched like a one‑man parade float, powered entirely by his own ego.

Greatness, is not about breaking paths with a selfie stick in hand. It’s about staying humble, letting the moment breathe, and realising that not everyone is destined for greatness. Some are destined for memes.

So when the sands of time sweep across the maidaan, will Mohanty’s legacy stand tall like Ozymandias? Or will it crumble into dust, leaving behind only echoes of his self‑obsession and a few confused fielders wondering why they were part of his empire?
