The runaway Horse!!!
You ever wonder why people get nicknames? Some make sense, others sound like ..well... A horse, for example, stands for Power, Endurance, and the untameable human spirit. After Dhruv’s performance this morning, I’m convinced he’s secretly auditioning for Fast & Furious: Stable Drift. That was pure Horsepower — neigh doubt about it. More on that a little neigh‑ter. 🐴
The day kicked off with two squads full on talent and intent. The Canes won the toss and chose to bowl — because apparently that's working. And boy, did it work. The Jugs were reduced to 23/3 in 4 overs and the inevitable seemed to be just around the corner.
Enter Dhruv. Promoted early, probably because someone thought, “Eh, why not?” His batting style? Imagine a man swatting flies with a broomstick — ungainly, unpredictable, but somehow effective. He doesn’t just play shots; he invents new ones mid‑swing. And then, like a magician pulling rabbits out of hats, he smashed 17 boundaries and scored 74 runs. The highlight? Forcing HK to run a single just so he could hog the strike. That’s not cricket!!!
The Canes, though, weren’t about to roll over. Anshul and Susmit set the tone, Raj chipped in with a cameo, and Hari played like he was auditioning for “Watch where the ball goes.” With 25 needed off 5 overs and 4 wickets in hand, it looked like another Canes win: tense, dramatic, but you already know the ending. Dhruv wasn’t letting his team lose today. Anantha batted beautifully, but Dhruv stole the script, the spotlight, and the bragging rights too.
Oh, it was also Satya's birthday today and he let us know that aging is a real thing. Spectacular show of emotion and maidaan cricket still kills it :-)
