Raptures to Ruptures - A Dino tale !!!
Let me be honest—there are about a hundred things I’d rather do on a Monday morning than meet someone I’ve already clocked six weekend hours with. But when the photo-op smiles fade, what you don’t see is a leader whose hair has been ruffled, pride tossed over the fence, and crown slipping faster than a bad toupee. Poor Dhruv—Shakespeare was right, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown… especially when your team looks like it belongs in a dinosaur museum.
See, Dhruv’s Raptors were cruising at 10-2. Another walk in the park, or so they thought. Then came yesterday. If not for Dinesh’s “do-it-all-and-save-the-day” performance, the Pacers would have rolled over them with the subtlety of a steamroller. The scoreboard may have suggested a nail-biter, but trust me, the Raptors’ cracks are wider than a dinosaur’s dentist bill.
And now comes the real math test: no HK, no Dinesh for the next two weeks. That’s four games gone. Which means—cue the drumroll—the Pacers could easily flip the script to 12-10. Imagine the Raptors’ obituary headline: “From Raptors to Roadkill: A Tragic Tale.”
So why was I summoned on a Monday morning? Dhruv’s SOS. The man needed a shoulder to cry on, and apparently, I’ve become the unofficial therapist for sporting crises and midlife cricket meltdowns. His complaints were… impressive. Sameer’s bowling has flatlined, Kiran has decided he’s the second coming of Wasim Akram, Apoorv wants to be vice-captain (because one captain isn’t headache enough), Vikram looks like he’s mentally retired, and Shiten? Missing in action—possibly witness protection.
I listened, nodded, even handed out some unsolicited wisdom. But sympathy? Not so much. Dhruv’s season has slipped away quicker than an umpire’s credibility—and speaking of umpires, let’s just say his questionable calls behind the stumps could fill an entire blooper reel. The Raptors aren’t losing just because of talent gaps—they’re losing because Dhruv’s leadership is one bad decision away from a Netflix comedy special.
