Watch out for the Hurricane!!

Guest piece by AK after a long time …

*Cricket at Maidaan!!!!!*

Hurricane's domination has been evident off late throughout the games played here at Maidaan in this season, outperforming the Wolves in every dimension of the game. Today also was no exception as the Hurricanes thrashed the Wolves by a huge margin of 80 runs.

Hurricanes exhibited their supremacy with bat and ball, and even in the field, Wolves appeared a tad sloppy. The Hurricanes after been put into bat managed to rack up a commendable *169 runs in 15 overs.*

*Openers AK & Gopi sir* delivered an exceptional batting performance, hammering a whirlwind *50 runs partnership in just 5 overs.*

*AK* was devastating smacking three fours in the second over bowled by Pranav & another couple of fours in the next over bowled by Shitz and at the other end *Gopi* was cool & composed taking up singles with occasional boundaries, one trade mark switch hit to the boundary was excellent.

*The loss of both the openers did raise Wolves hopes, but little did they know that the Maidaan was set to witness a carnage of runs with the classical Hari & the big hitter Arjun at the centre stage.*

None of the Wolves bowlers were spared. The faster they bowled, the faster it went for boundary & over boundary.

*Hari's* batting was pure magic & the timing of his strokes was absolutely classical. Three consecutive sixes of Shitz was a treat to watch & this was followed by number of boundaries in the subsequent overs.

It was Arjun’s turn to take the center stage, and he did so with sheer dominance. His explosive batting display was nothing short of remarkable. Arjun ensured the momentum didn't break with three boundaries and three sixes.

This dazzling display of  explosive partnership of around 80 runs sealed the game for the Hurricanes, leading to a monumental team total, pushing it beyond the Wolves's grasp.

Sameer finished the innings with a couple of superb boundaries of HK.

*Chasing a target of 170 runs*, Wolves required a strong opening partnership. Nevertheless, the Wolves’ innings commenced disastrously as *Pranav* was dismissed in the very first over bowled by *Ayush*.  *KG* also returned to the hut without making much contribution.

Following the early dismissals of two batters, the responsibility to salvage the innings fell squarely on the shoulders of  HK & Skipper Shitz.

*HK* signaled his intent with two powerful fours, hinting at a potential revival & further went on to hit a magnificent six. *However, his innings was abruptly halted, courtesy of a spectacular piece of catching by Aashish* of Dhruvs bowling.

Needless to say, Wolves were in big trouble as soon as HK was out. They had already lost KG and Pranav, and HK's departure reduced their chances of chasing the mammoth target of 170.

Skipper Shitz tried in vain to hold up the innings, however, wickets at crucial intervals further hindered their momentum.

Ahaan played a good cameo & his tussle with Dhruv was a good one to watch with Ahaan enjoying success clobbering two towering sixes.

The Wolves could only muster a total of 90 runs in their allotted quota of 15 overs.

For the Hurricanes, Vikram, Sameer, Ayush & Dhruv excelled in the bowling department. Fielding & catching was top class.

*SERIES SCORE:*

8-6 in favour of the Hurricanes.

*MOM: HARI & ARJUN.*
