Season 12 - So what is different and what is not ?

Just after wrapping up the shortest season ever of PCL which ended with 3 games, we got back to the drawing board to rejig the teams. 

A lot of you think the decisions on new teams and rules are made by one or two people. It is actually a mixed group of players who are always involved in the games here and more importantly voice their opinions in favour of improving the overall standards of the game here. 

So what was different as we started this new season: 

1. Redux season for sure with 2 old team names, Hurricanes and Wolfpacks making a comeback. Aashish leading the Hurricanes which made a lot of sense because he was the last captain of the Hurricanes before we put the team in the back burner and Mr. Captain of Palladian cricket, Shiten who has now created an aura around himself for leading teams to season wins as the captain for the wolves. 

2. Satya is a real thinker as we all know. Sometimes his idea are not readily acceptable but when he puts data and science behind his thought process, it becomes very difficult to ignore. As we started this season, one of the banes of past seasons were around the anti climatic nature of our unofficial games. Since the whole intent was to have an energy charged weekend, the whole focus was around limiting unofficial games and with that came the new 1 and 2 point official games. I must say this was a master stroke and it has worked like a charm thus far. 

3. CP as MC has provided us all the air cover to play even on weekends when we thought was not possible. Kudos to CP for the leadership he has brought in by making sure our precious maintenance staff warm up for the day by getting our ground ready. More power to you CP!!

4. Kishore is now blasting it from Ball 1 .....

5. Vicky's new THOR bat !!

6. By runners at both ends with some folks now on a third season with a sub runner. And some folks choosing runners because they don't want to run 

7. Raghu has become a millionaire many times over. Congratulations man on your new venture!!

8. KG now thinks he is a bowler because his batting touch has deserted him. 

9. Harsha is coming more often to play after he moved out of Palladian. 

10. Dhruv is not practicing these days. Happy to see him back after a brief injury scare. 

and some things remain the same.....

- Hari is missing for some strange reason or the other. The latest being a minor ache in his neck. 

- HK is still hitting the ball to other pin codes  

- Shyam 2.0 was even more brutal and menacing !!

- Vik and Vicky are either drinking tea or in the lift...

- We still fight for stupid things...
