The Conversation with the Enforcer

It’s impossible not to love the man. Kind, gentle and tough as nails. Kishore’s responses epitomises who he is . The quintessential team man.

1. Everyone knows what you do on the first ball you face. Can you explain the thought process ?

It is always a mixed set of emotions given my precarious position in the team. I always sent in the last 2-3 overs to spare so as soon as I take my guard I am alway promoted : “ Start hitting from Ball 1/ don’t waste balls/ be in your beast mode/ etc etc.. and when finally the first ball is bowled reality strikes that I need to be patient and wait for a lose ball.

2. You are the calmest cricketer in the group. There are rumors about your anger. So what makes you stay oblivious to the pressure and talk around you and be who you are?

To start with weekend have become extra special thanks to the game of cricket. At least you get to meet and greet all the guys in Palladian in one go, the mindless banter, child like leg pulling etc is a complete stress buster if the week gone by. So calmness stems from this feeling that weekend is here and am in august company of the most wonderful and competitive bunch of boys. Also a wise man from Palladian itself preached that make it worthwhile for your competitor.  So I go about doing my task. It’s always about the team , Period!!

3. Have you ever got into a fight at the maidaan? Or have you ever had a situation where you wanted to be in one.

Fortunately not but was successful able to stop a flight in the big Yemalur ground!

4. Which bowler do you like facing and more importantly whose bowling do you like beasting over?

One and only Vikram! It’s so satisfying to hit a six on his ball, just love to silence his laughter! I just wish I could wha his balls more to the pool.

5. You have been given different names at the maidaan. Which one is your favourite and why?
Love the latest nick name butcher but need to live up to it each day.

6. Where do you prefer batting in the team? And your reasons for the same.

My preference doesn’t matter, it’s solely depends on my captain’s mood and his frame of mind based on how many wickets we have lost and runs we have on the board.
