A repair job - By Chaitanya

 A REPAIR JOB

Vikings walked on to the field knowing they had to win today. 1-4 was a tough scoreline to swallow. Reality had cut deep, wounding pride. It hurt to lose.

But faith kept the team together. Faith in the collective ability of the team and in the strong desire to win. Faith in the process and faith in each and every individual.

But faith, it turns out, isn't immune to decay. It requires upkeep and in periods of crisis it even needs some repair. And make no mistake, Vikings were staring a crisis in the eye.

The scorecard for the day had its own story to tell. A story of grit - Kings saying I will not throw my wicket away today. A story of stepping up - Hari saying I will not let another chance slip through my fingers. A story of skill - Harsha setting new standards for fielding. A story of rising up to new challenges - Satya opening the innings and bowling a 3 wicket over. A story of despair - Mark bowling an uncharacteristically expensive over. A story of redemption - Arjun keeping his cool and trusting his instincts to risk a flighted ball and all but sealing the win with HK's wicket. And, of course, as always a story of a bit of controversy.

Infernos did their best. They stayed in the game like they always do. And HK took a sledgehammer to Vikings' faith. Another over and he might have delivered a fatal blow. But as it stands, Vikings left the field with their faith still in one piece. Faith that had taken a thorough beating, but one that still stands, thanks to an epic repair job.

They can, for now, continue to believe.
