The Conversation - The scribe gets questioned??

AK, AK Sir , the man with word play at his finger tips is someone everyone admires. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon he makes or breaks hearts depending on how your morning went that day. However one thing that stands out is his neutral interpretation of how the game went.

In our first series of the THE CONVERSATION, who better that to feature the man and ask him some questions about what makes him tick at the Maidaan.

1. How did writing about our games come to you ? Was this something you were always keen on doing ?

*I wasn't keen on doing this but the enthusiasm of the players & the intensity of play made me to write about the matches played at Maidaan. I now like doing it and enjoy some players reminding me or correcting me about certain facts to ensure that I write about them properly. *

2. What do you look forward to every weekend and what do you hate ?

*Every weekend I look forward towards a close fought entertaining match. I hate the unnecessary arguments & fights that happen at Maidaan.*

3 . Does a poor personal performance affect you ? Or do you forget about it when you leave the maidaan?

*It does affect me. I am totally in a foul mood the morning I get dismissed early & my team loses the game.*

4. Who amongst our cricketers is not fulfilling his potential to the maximum and what advice do you have for him  ?

*Sathya...*
No doubt he is a terrific bowler but he is a great batsman too. He has got all the strokes of a great finisher....but somehow he doesn't take up the pressure to take the game deep & finish it for his team. He buckles under pressure.
My advice for him is to stay cool, focused & play according to the situation & take the game till the end. He just has to survive the pressure by playing his natural game & win matches for his team

5. Which has been your favourite cricket team in the PCL? And why ?

*Hurricanes - the best, the most balanced & the best coordinated team*

6 . Would you like to captain a team ?

*Right now NO!!..... as captaining a team at Maidaan needs a lot of moral support from the team mates & ability to control the players which I don't have*

7. Who are you best buddies at the maidaana?

*Arjun, Sathya, Samir, Kiran, Uma, Sameer, CP, Gopi sir, Aditya, Kishore, Bipin*
